Day 354 - The Met Gala

Can someone explain to me what the purpose of the Met Gala is… I know it is all about women wearing fancy over the top dresses they can’t wait to take off and about mostly ridiculously dressed men… I know it is all about those “lucky” actors, actresses, singers, and all kinds of celebrities that get to be invited to wear these uncomfortable clothes and stand on some stairs to display them for the world to see… That I know. But what is the purpose of it all? That, I don’t know. And why is the main organizer woman Anna Wintour always wearing sunglasses… (I personally like to be able to see the eyes of the people that get to influence others). I saw pictures of women that could not walk alone and needed to be lifted by other people so they can be moved up and down The Stairs. I understand that fashion is considered an art by some and that some of these dresses are absolutely beautiful and the result of lots of creativity, skill and hard labor, but why is the glorification of all that?

Considering what is happening in the world right now, this display of excess just doesn’t feel right.
